- Rich 16-6 is a trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata) hybrid rootstock developed for citrus.
- It's cold-hardy, withstanding temperatures down to about 0°F (-18°C) and
shows good resistance to common citrus diseases like Phytophthora root rot and citrus tristeza virus.
- Produces trees with moderate vigor (smaller than some other rootstocks)
- Tends to produce high-quality fruit
- Has good drought tolerance once established
- Yuzu itself is one of the more cold-hardy citrus varieties, so pairing it with a cold-hardy rootstock like Rich 16-6 maximizes its cold tolerance
- The moderate vigor works well for yuzu, which doesn't need excessive growth.
