Watch: How to Make Primo Citrus Tree Potting Mix

The Primo DIY Citrus & Fruit Tree Potting Mix Kit is a 2:1 mix that is especially selected to provide the best drainage, water retention, and nutrients for your citrus tree. This soilless mix is a combination of Orchid Bark and Palm, Cactus & Citrus Potting Mix designed for tropical plants and trees. The Do-It-Yourself kit empowers you with the ingredients to make the perfect potting mix for your fruit trees like citrus, figs, guavas & more.

Since this is a DIY mix, that means that you can mix up as much or as little of the Primo Citrus Tree Potting Mix as you like so long as you stick to the ratio (2:1) of two parts Orchid Bark and one part Palm, Cactus & Citrus Potting Mix.

G&B Orchid Bark Ingredients:

Orchid Bark - Forest Bark: This coarse bark makes up the majority of our potting mix and provides structure to the mix, allowing for maximum airflow and drainage to the roots. Bark also has a very slow rate of decomposition, making for a very stable soil mix.

G&B Palm, Cactus & Citrus Potting Mix Ingredients:

Recycled forest products, pumice, sand, bark fines, composted chicken manure, dehydrated chicken manure, hydrolyzed feather meal, worm castings, kelp meal, bat guano, dolomite & oyster shell limes (as pH adjusters)

While the Primo Citrus Tree Potting Mix contains what your tree needs to get rooted into its new home, regular feeding with conventional or organic fertilizer will boost the growth of your tree and keep the tree happy long term. We recommend using our Romeo fertilizer as this type of plant food is more instantly available to the tree and does not require microbes to break down the fertilizer to make it accessible to the tree.
